It escapes you from the reality, and it inspires you to change some aspects in your life, or look at life in a different perspective. Sometimes it also put yourself into the character and let you experience new emotions.

It also brings to a place that you would never get to see; you learn things that you may never learn in real life situation. When the author describes all the things that are written in the book, you imagine them, it’s like painting your imagination in a blank canvas, and it’s relaxing.     You hit the nail on the head in this blog. As an author and former journalist, I found reading to be an inspiring escape that helped me unwind, yet fed my muse all the time.

    These days when I read I try to steer away from the genre I write in to avoid any unwanted influences. It was hard at first because fantasy has always been my favorite. But it forced me to branch out into other genres like romance and historical fiction and it’s opened up a whole new realm of interest for me.
